I never liked oysters growing up, but I would always shuck them for my parents. The existence of oysters in my life has never faltered. I am starting to understand that the world truly is my oyster Living in New Orleans taught me to love things about life that I never thought I could; oysters being the main thing. I've fallen in love with using oysters as a nod to Botticelli's Birth of Venus, sensuality and fertility in my work. The organic nature lends itself to a very exciting subject to paint.
